Reetta Putkonen
Reetta Putkonen leads the Traffic and Street Planning Service in the Urban Environment Division of the City of Helsinki.
Transportation planning is closely integrated with land use and guided by a tradition of co-operation between architects and engineers. Helsinki’s traffic planning is based on clear strategy that prioritize quality of life, sustainability, and efficient use of the transport system for growing city. Traffic is not the absolute value in the city, but people and thriving business are. Public spaces are the key asset, and the city aims to be a pioneer in human-centric and sustainable mobility solutions.
Putkonen has worked for the City of Helsinki since 2015. Before that she led the transportation planning division at the global consulting company WSP.
