Anna Schindler has been Director of Urban Development for the City of Zurich since November 2011.

Prior to this, the cultural and economic geographer worked for various German- and English-language publications and publishing houses, as well as a communications consultant in the fields of architecture, real estate, and urban development for small and large companies and enterprises.

She taught media studies, cultural communication, and cultural management at the University of Zurich and the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) and worked with ETH Studio Basel. Anna Schindler lives in Zurich with her husband and three sons.
